Tapestry Needle

A blunt-tipped needle with a large eye used for weaving in ends and sewing crochet pieces together.

Also known as a yarn needle or darning needle, this is the primary tool for finishing your work.

Features

  • Blunt Tip: Unlike sewing needles, tapestry needles are blunt so they don’t split the yarn strands as you sew.
  • Large Eye: Necessary to accommodate thick yarn.

Common Uses

  1. Weaving in Ends: Hiding the leftover “tails” of yarn inside the fabric so your work doesn’t unravel.
  2. Seaming: Joining multiple crochet pieces together (e.g., sewing a sleeve onto a sweater).
  3. Embroidery: Adding faces to amigurumi or decorative details to finished fabric.
